Pastor / Elder
Pastor Jeff Black & his beloved bride Nydia have been married since 1986. After the Air Force and Bible college, the two of them spent 18 years at Cornerstone Church in Mesa, Arizona, involved in every aspect of ministry under the excellent leadership and guidance of Dr. James E. Adams. They are blessed with 6 adult children and 2 energetic grandsons.
In 2007, Jeff stepped away from retail business to actively pursue a full-time pastorate in which to fulfill God’s call. He served two mission organizations in managerial roles while engaged in itinerant preaching and teaching ministries in local churches.
In 2011, Jeff was called to serve as a missionary-pastor with Village Missions, serving a rural congregation in Halsey. Late in 2022, he left VM to continue serving the church body in Halsey as its pastor. He & Nydia are committed to ministering to the needs of the church & assisting the community in a variety of ways.
Deacons
Since 2018, our elected deacons, retired Pr. Max Doner and Mr. Aric Wardian, have assisted in caring for the needs of our church body. They help to maintain and improve our facilities & property, as well as oversee our church finances. Both Max and Aric have also encouraged the elderly & infirm in our flock with home visits.
In 2022, Max’s two volume set on the Book of Revelation was published by Reformed Lighthouse Press and has seen broad distribution stateside and overseas. In 2023, his set was translated into Spanish and is now in the process of publication.
Aric is an avid hiker and took time off from work in the summer of 2022 to hike the Pacific Crest Trail, beginning at the border of Canada and ending at the border of Mexico. He also enjoys bicycling and book reading in his spare time.
